This software is used to format SD Memory Cards so they are compliant with SD Memory Card standards.
Typically, SD Memory Card file systems formatted using standard PC formatting software are not compliant with SD Memory Card standards. If you have formatted the card using the PC's standard formatting program, make sure to reformat using SD format to take full advantage of maximum SD Memory Card performance.

Can I also format cards other than the SD Memory Card?

This SD Memory Card formatting software is for the formatting of SD Memory Cards only. The formatting program will not function properly if you are not using a SD Memory Card.

What happens when I format an SD Memory Card with a standard PC formatting program?
Answer3.
The SD host equipment may not be able to recognize the SD Memory Card. Writing data to the card may take longer than necessary and some functions may no longer work.
Question4.
When using the SD Memory Card software, the drive icon corresponding to the SD Memory Card does not appear in the drive list display.

After confirming you can see the memory card drive from the Windows Explorer menu, press the "Refresh" button located in the SD Memory Card Formatter program menu.
If the SD Memory Card drive does not appear in the drive list after pressing the Refresh button, re-insert the card and repeat the above procedure.

An error occurs when executing the SD Memory Card Formatter program.

The SD Memory Card's write protect switch may be in the write protect position. Verify the card's switch is not in the write protect position. It may be possible the media you are trying to format is not a SD Memory Card, confirm you are using a SD Memory Card.
Verify the type of reader/writer indicated under the "Compatible Equipment" category of the Readme.txt file or check the SD Formatter software download page. Other reader/writers may not function properly.

Can I use any other reader/writers not listed under "Compatible Equipment" in the Readme.txt file?

The reader/writer may not function properly if you are using incompatible or non-listed equipment when trying to format an SD Memory Card.
Regarding "Compatible Equipment", as new reader/writers are released, supported models will be added and the list updated upon completion of test verifications.

How can I restore accidentally formatted non-SD Memory Card media?

Re-format the media using the formatting software applicable for that media.

Does this software work with Macintosh?
