This program is now compatible with the following Windows Vista editions.
  • Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Premium
  • Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Basic

Notes

This update program is effective only for the target version. Please do not install it for other versions as this may cause the software to malfunction.
This version will function especially for Windows Vista with MotionDV STUDIO Ver.5.6E LE. Please note that the following changes have not been reflected in the current operation manual.
  • Front cover:
    Version number 5.6 should be 6.0.
  • Operation Environment:
    Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition SP2
    Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional SP2
    Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional SP4
    The following have been added to the above.

Read the document carefully before installing the file.

Once the download is finished, select the downloaded file with Explorer. Click [File] [Property] in Explorer and check the file size. If the size is identical, then the download was successful. If the size is different, delete the file and download it again.

Double-click the "MDVS600ELE_Setup.batEfile downloaded in STEP2
“MDVS600ELE_Setup.exeEcan be used.
* A security warning screen may appear after double-clicking “MDVS600ELE_Setup.batE
Click “RunEto continue the process.

Installation Procedures

Case 1

If Windows Vista is preinstalled in your computer
br
Set the digital video camera’s USB cable function to "DV Data" or "Motion DV" and the camera mode to "Tape Play Mode", and connect the camera to the computer by USB cable.
br
Log in with the computer administrator account.
Close all currently active applications.
br
Double-click (single-click) the update activation file (MDVS600ELE_Setup.exe).
br
Follow the instructions on the dialog box to begin the update process.
br
The update process will finish after a given period of time.
br
Check the "MotionDV STUDIO" version. Launch MotionDV STUDIO, select [Help] [Version information] to see the version.
If "MotionDV STUDIO 6.0E LE for DV Ver.6.00L06" is displayed, then the update was successful.
If you are using the BGM file, proceed to the BGM file setup.

Case 2

If you are upgrading Windows XP, in which MotionDV STUDO is installed, to Windows Vista
br
Uninstall MotionDV STUDIO.
br
Upgrade the computer to Windows Vista.
br
Set the digital video camera’s USB cable function to "DV Data" or "Motion DV" and the camera mode to "Tape Play Mode", and connect the camera to the computer by USB cable.
br
Log in with the computer administrator account.
Close all currently active applications.
br
Double-click (single-click) the update activation file (MDVS600ELE_Setup.exe).
br
Follow the instructions on the dialog box to begin the update process.
br
The update process will finish after a given period of time.
br
Check the "MotionDV STUDIO" version. Launch MotionDV STUDIO, select [Help] [Version information] to see the version. If "MotionDV STUDIO 6.0E LE for DV Ver.6.00L06" is displayed, then the update was successful.

Case 3

If you upgraded your computer to Windows Vista without uninstalling MotionDV STUDIO
br
Set the digital video camera’s USB cable function to "DV Data" or "Motion DV" and the camera mode to "Tape Play Mode", and connect the camera to the computer by USB cable.
br
Log in with the computer administrator account.
Close all currently active applications.
br
Double-click (single-click) the update activation file (MDVS600ELE_Setup.exe).
br
When a message is displayed telling you to uninstall the previous version, close this program.
br
Go to Control Panel Uninstall a Program and uninstall MotionDV STUDIO.
(* Do not uninstall MotionDV STUDIO until STEP 3 and 4 are completed.)
br
Double-click (single-click) the update activation file (MDVS600ELE_Setup.exe).
br
Follow the instructions on the dialog box to begin the update process.
br
The update process will finish after a given period of time.
br
Check the "MotionDV STUDIO" version. Launch MotionDV STUDIO, select [Help] [Version information] to see the version.
If "MotionDV STUDIO 6.0E LE for DV Ver.6.00L06" is displayed, then the update was successful.
